About Our City
Although often underplayed by other North Carolina cities like Raleigh and Charlotte, Greensboro is a quaint city rich in Southern history and charm.The city is named for General Nathanael Greene, who led American forces in the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Guilford Courthouse in 1781, and there is a delightful public park commemorating the battle. With a population of over 280,000 people, it is North Carolina’s third largest city. Home to the first sit-in at Woolworth’s, which you can still visit at downtown’s International Civil Rights Center Museum, the Carolina Theater, and Vick’sVapoRub, the city is full of historical landmarks.

Greensboro has areas perfect for families, students, and young and older couples alike.
